Pay: $44.00 to $55.76 hourly (final offer varies by experience, skills, location and market data).

This is a Union position.

Position Summary The Journeyman Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.

Maintain plumbing systems including pumps, valves, and fixtures.

Respond to service requests and emergency calls in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of work performed.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

Assist in training and mentoring apprentice engineers and maintenance staff.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building operations or facilities maintenance.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, and kneeling.

Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and in secure environments.

Working Conditions

Indoor and outdoor environments.

Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards.

May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
