Job Overview Structural Engineer III (33811) at HFA.

Responsibilities

Lead client/ team (1-5 staff) across project types and major portions of large projects using structural analysis and design in concrete, steel, wood, cold form steel, masonry.

Apply structural software programs such as RAM Structural Systems, Enercalc, RAM Element, RAM Concept to design projects.

Work independently on most project/building types with minimal to no oversight by Engineer or Team Lead.

Act as Design Lead or Engineer of Record unless in a strictly technical role.

Train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions.

Collaborate with Architects and Engineers to develop construction documents based on client requirements, including project management and construction administration functions.

Perform high-level quality control of projects for final review by Engineer of Record.

Have direct client contact unless strictly technical.

Establish project budgets and work with team to ensure financial success.

Could serve as Engineer of Record on more complex projects with approval from Director or Executive.

License in more than 5 states.

Write specifications for any project type.

Qualifications

Minimum BSCE/BSAE from an ABET Accredited Engineering Program.

MSCE preferred.

Licensed Professional Engineer.

Strong understanding of structural software programs.

Experience in multiple projects and building types or deep single type.

Ability to lead client team and major project portions.

Work independently on most projects/building types.
