Join SOLV Energy as a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1), a full‑time position located on a jobsite in Desert Center, CA. The role focuses on field maintenance and safe work practices in the solar industry.
Job Description Summary The Technician will assist with the operation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of solar equipment across multiple plants while following safety protocols and company procedures.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
Prioritise safety and ensure all employees adhere to safe practices.
Work safely under all circumstances, seeking guidance for unfamiliar tasks.
Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
Service solar equipment in multiple plants under supervision.
Perform basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision using monitoring programs.
Replace or repair solar parts and equipment under supervision.
Respond ‘on‑call’ for emergency repairs as directed by a supervisor.
Prepare accurate documentation and reports of work performed.
Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Suggest process improvements, collaborate on new technologies, and coordinate with EPC management on implementations.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; vocational/technical training a plus.
Experience in a mechanical/electrical environment, via formal training or prior work.
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to perform Lock Out/Tag Out on energized parts/systems.
Fundamental knowledge of solar installation/plant operations.
Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
Computer operation skills.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification.
Maintain current safety and technical training.
Effective verbal and written English communication.
Organizational skills.
Capacity to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions.
Availability for on‑call duties, possibly including weekends or after‑hours.
Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to operate company vehicle.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Exposure to weather, harsh outdoor environment, vibration, dust, fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicals.
Frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling; finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, lifting 50 lbs. or more.
Require finger dexterity, good vision, hearing, speech, depth perception.
Occasional climbing, carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and work in high or inaccessible places.
Noise intensity may be high.
