Under general direction from the Facilities Supervisor, responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical controls. Lays out and installs new electrical service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Installs and maintains various types of motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers. Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacements. Installs grounding leads. Interprets blueprints; works from sketches or verbal instructions. Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and new services to include panels, breakers, and conduit. Monitors motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications. Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments. Orders electrical supplies and maintains adequate stock to repair electrical problems. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Advise enterprise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using test devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of the system. Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes. Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required. Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems. Schedules repairs, installations, and electrical inspections. Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Serves electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar devices. Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables, power distribution cables, and splices them as required. Maintains accurate records of all work performed, including circuit numbers, wiring methods, and location of any devices or splices. Notifies Supervisor/Manager of potentially dangerous electrical equipment and corrective actions taken. May operate company vehicles or equipment as assigned. Performs other duties as required. Direct Reports: None. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent, unless waived by Human Resources Management. Completion of an accredited four-year electrical apprenticeship program or an equivalent combination of vocational trade school, junior technical college, or on-the-job training is required. A valid California Driver’s License is required. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of methods and practices used in electrical work. Knowledge of electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits. Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices. Skill in safe operation of power tools and shop equipment. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment. Ability to install and maintain motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers. Ability to install grounding leads. Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work. Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliance. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers. Ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English. Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks within strict deadlines. Physical Demands
Requires regular talking and hearing. Requires standing, walking, sitting, using hand to finger, handling or feeling objects, tools or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50–100 pounds. Requires ability to climb ladders and stamina for constant walking, bending, stooping, reaching and pushing of medium to heavy weight items and equipment on a regular basis. Ability to work off ladders, powered lifts and scaffolding to 25 feet. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
Work is noisy and may be performed indoors and outdoors. Work performed in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, and dimly lit, and maneuver outside in temperatures in excess of 115° and as cold as 15°. Exposed to cigarette smoke. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
