Civil Engineer (Hybrid-Washington, DC Metro Area)

A leading engineering and technology organization in the Washington, DC metro area is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure, defense, and advanced technology projects while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

About the Role The position will support planning, design, analysis, and execution of a wide range of civil and site development projects. This individual will work closely with internal engineering teams, project managers, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support civil engineering design efforts for site development, infrastructure, utility systems, transportation-related elements, and facility-based civil works.

Prepare engineering drawings, grading plans, stormwater management designs, erosion and sediment control plans, and related documentation.

Conduct field assessments, site inspections, and construction phase support as needed.

Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, load calculations, and technical analyses in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate civil design into broader project requirements.

Develop project specifications, cost estimates, scopes of work, and technical reports.

Coordinate with municipalities, regulatory bodies, contractors, and external partners.

Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, design standards, and best practices.

Support project scheduling, budgeting, and timely delivery of project milestones.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree a plus.

5+ years of professional civil engineering experience in site development, infrastructure, land development, transportation, utilities, or related disciplines.

Proficiency with civil design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, or similar.

Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting requirements.

Experience preparing engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and in team settings.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly.
