Role Overview
Our client is seeking a hands‑on Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with strong experience across both firmware and hardware development. This individual will play a key role in taking a complex, regulated device from advanced prototyping through production and market launch. As part of a small, highly collaborative team, this role offers significant ownership over system architecture, design decisions, and execution across the full product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller‑based systems
Lead and support hardware development, including schematics, PCB layout, bring‑up, and testing
Drive product execution from early prototypes through manufacturing‑ready designs
Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, clinical, and regulatory teams
Ensure designs align with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Support verification, validation, and compliance testing activities
Take ownership of complex technical challenges from concept through deployment
Required Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience delivering embedded hardware products to market
Strong embedded programming skills (C/C++ or similar)
Extensive hands‑on hardware design experience, including PCB layout and system bring‑up
Proficiency with professional PCB design tools
Ability to work on‑site in a collaborative startup environment
5+ years of relevant industry experience
Nice to Have
Experience working within regulated medical device environments
Background in wearable, low‑power, or biomedical devices
