Med Tech CMT - Position Summary
Administer oral and topical medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with state and federal regulations. Perform routine daily tasks to maintain the health, comfort, and well‑being of residents. Available Shifts / Schedule
Full‑time: 10 PM – 6 AM (overnight) Med Tech CMT - Essential Responsibilities
Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with community policy. Demonstrate knowledge of the “five rights” of medication administration and record all medication given to residents based upon their specific chart. Take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as required by certain medications. Record the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately, utilizing the computer system to enter and reference resident information. Observe and report any reactions or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse immediately. Administer PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy. Practice antiseptic techniques and good hand‑washing practices for infection control, utilizing universal precautions. Report and record any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents. Submit incident/accident reports to supervisor or Administrator within 24 hours after occurrence. Communicate with medical staff, nursing service, and other department supervisors. Supervise care staff in the absence of nurses. Maintain, clean, and organize the medication room. Coordinate with other department supervisors to plan resident activities. Attend all required training, in‑service, and staff meetings. Handle hazardous chemicals and be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses, as required. Maintain resident and staff confidentiality; treat staff and residents with kindness, dignity, and respect. Comply with Resident’s Rights rules. Med Tech CMT - Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Degree with one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Medication Technician certification (required).
