Full-time Utilities Maintenance Mechanic position with the City of La Crosse’s Wastewater Department.
Job Purpose: To perform wastewater utility mechanical maintenance and repair work, maintaining scheduled and emergency equipment such as pumps, mixers, motors, comminuters, and more.
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on a wide variety of wastewater equipment, including sludge pumps, sludge mixers, motors, comminuters, de‑gritting units, clarifiers, flight drives, blowers, aeration stones, distribution systems, chemical feed systems, and generators.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, replace or repair parts, and ensure equipment operates at optimal capacity.
Collaborate with other department personnel to coordinate maintenance schedules and respond to emergencies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two to three years of mechanical maintenance experience in a utility setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Class A commercial driver’s license.
CPR, First Aid, and confined space entry certifications.
