Position Summary & Responsibilities The Plant Operator is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of natural gas amine treating and cryogenic processing plants, compressors, and pipeline systems via computer control center and onsite operations.

Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and systems at plant facilities—including but not limited to cryogenic plants, process controls, engines and compressors, pumps, pressure relief systems, instrument air systems, molecular sieve dehydrators, fuel systems, emergency shutdown systems, reciprocating compressors, gas fired heaters, process pumps, amine treating systems, inlet gas receivers, and NGL transfer systems—while ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulatory agencies.

Seek to optimize processing by maintaining proper product specifications.

Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and associated systems and take corrective measures.

Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to efficiently achieve desired operating results and ensure proper operation of equipment under current process conditions such as Start/Stop/Rate adjustment.

Maintain compliance with plant operations, safety and environmental standards (PSM‑SPCC‑LDEQ) and create/maintain required reporting and readings.

Adhere to required trainings, policies, and procedures; pass all PSM‑required operator certifications.

Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.

Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.

Perform lab tests for quality assurance, diagnose mechanical problems, complete minor repairs, assist other technical staff, and carry out any other tasks as assigned.

Monitor field compressor status and associated pipelines via SCADA.

Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO).

Position Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

2+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience preferred.

Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field preferred.

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.

Knowledge of operation, control, and design of typical systems in a processing or treating plant required.

Basic mathematical skills (percentages, ratios, proportions) required.

Basic computer skills: MS Word and Excel required.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under stressful/hazardous conditions, and be flexible.

Effective verbal and written communication at all organizational levels required.

Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues.

Completes tasks quickly and efficiently.

Demonstrates conscientiousness, dependability, and commitment to the role, team and company.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Move or traverse between job site locations, remain stationary for extended periods, perform kneeling/squatting tasks, and ascend/descend (ladders or uneven terrain).

Detect, identify, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively.

Operate a 4X4 vehicle.

Repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back; use hands and fingers extensively.

Work atop elevated surfaces and traverse heights.

Lift or carry >50 lbs, sometimes >150 ft./lbs.

Work outdoors in variable weather and well site conditions.

Driver Requirements

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Operator of a company vehicle for work‑related travel or use of a personal vehicle with stipend; must adhere to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies.

Eligible for insurance under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
