Job Summary The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations across multiple functional areas and offices, including but not limited to employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and HR policy implementation. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers while ensuring HR practices align with company goals and legal requirements.

Salary Range $60,000 per year - $80,000 per year

Hours Various; this position supports an organization operating 24/7, 365 days a year

Responsibilities

Employee Leave of Absence Management:

Assess employee's eligibility for leave and assist in applying for said leave such as: FMLA/CFRA, PFL, DBL, and Workers Comp.

Maintain up-to-date records regarding employees on leave and their return-to-work status

Approve/deny disability and FMLA leave requests under the guidance of the HR Manager

Report Worker’s Compensation claims to insurance agency and COVID-19 cases to the DOH in a timely manner

Assist managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics

Manage onboarding for company, including inputting accurate information into HRIS/payroll system

Provide support with benefits overview and open enrollment

Assess training, development and employee relations needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers

Create, organize, plan, and present various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees

Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements

Maintain up-to-date records in HRIS regarding employee training, skills, education, etc

Counsel employees (and potential employees/applicants) on health plan provisions and assist in benefits enrollment

Basic Qualifications

Associate Degree or advanced certificate in HR

3-4 years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions

1-2 years of leave management experience

Considerable knowledge of HR principles and practices

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and prioritize workload according

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Organization Development or related field

SHRM or PHR Certification

Advanced knowledge of various employment laws
