Responsibilities

The Senior Surveying Professional will play a key role in delivering high-quality surveying services for land development projects.

This individual will lead survey operations, oversee field and office workflows, ensure technical accuracy, and collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep surveying expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to exceptional client service.

What you will do

Lead and manage surveying activities for land development and engineering projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking, and as-built surveys.

Oversee field crews and office staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project timelines.

Perform advanced survey calculations, QA/QC reviews, and final deliverables for client submissions.

Interpret engineering plans, plats, legal descriptions, and client requirements.

Serve as a technical resource for project managers, engineers, and clients.

Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Manage project workflow, scheduling, and quality standards across multiple active jobs.

Support business development efforts by providing technical insight during client meetings or proposals.

Mentor junior survey staff and support their professional development.

Contribute to process improvements to enhance productivity and service quality.

What you will need

8+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, preferably within land development or civil engineering environments.

Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license in the state of Florida

strongly preferred

(or ability to obtain licensure within a defined period).

Strong expertise with GPS, robotic instruments, data collectors, CAD software, and survey processing tools.

Proven experience leading field crews or survey teams.

Strong understanding of Florida surveying standards, plats, subdivisions, and construction processes.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
