Salary Range: $30.00 To $35.00 Hourly
Job Summary Black Butte Ranch is a destination resort in Central Oregon, surrounded by Cascade mountain views, Ponderosa pines, and a strong sense of community. Set across 1,800 acres, the Ranch features golf courses, lodging, restaurants, pools, spa, trails, a private lake, and year-round recreation, offering employees the opportunity to work in an ideal environment.
The Payroll Specialist oversees all payroll operations for Black Butte Ranch, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role maintains payroll systems, audits, reporting, and assists with benefit deductions and tax filings. The Payroll Specialist serves as the primary point of contact expert for payroll procedures and provides guidance to the People and Finance teams.
Due to the nature of the role, this is an in-office position requiring regular, on-site presence to support payroll operations and employee needs.
Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end payroll for all employees in a timely and accurate manner
Review and approve timecards, earnings, deductions, and payroll adjustments
Maintain payroll records and documentation for pay, benefits, and status changes
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, wage reports, and termination pay
Reconcile payroll data and support accounting entries as needed
Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially
Partner with People and Culture and Finance on payroll compliance, benefits, and system updates
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience
Must have working knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
Experience with payroll systems (ADP and/or BambooHR preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Effective communication and organizational skills
