Job Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supports strategic decision‑making, identifies cost‑saving opportunities, ensures financial discipline across operational functions, and provides leadership to the accounting/finance team. The Controller will work closely with executive leadership and Director of Finance to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
Duties / Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Monitor and analyze standard costing vs actual costing; define corrective actions across departments and plants based on the analysis
Develop and implement cost control procedures and policies.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process; provide variance analysis and actionable insights to management.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings and reporting requirements.
Coordinate external audits and serve as primary contact with auditors.
Implement process improvements and financial systems enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and development to the accounting/finance team.
Partner with senior leadership to support business strategy and long‑term financial planning.

5+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller role.
Strong Knowledge and expertise in financial analysis, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting are essential for this role
Strong Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and tax laws
Strong experience with ERP and SAP
Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or mechanical industries a plus
Knowledge of data analysis tools, such as Excel, is a must.
