About the position We are looking for a qualified and experienced Personal Financial Counselor to serve military service members and their families at assigned installations. The role is on‑site, with virtual counseling permitted as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
Assist in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as authorized.
Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with DoD protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training.
Engage in quality improvement activities and other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree + 4 years experience or high school diploma + 6 years experience may be considered).
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
U.S. citizen, proficient in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required.
Tier 2 investigation and organizational conflicts of interest (OCI) clearance.
Certification: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.
Education and Experience High School/GED; finance‑related coursework preferred.
Compensation Salary range: $53,125 to $84,995 (may vary by location).

Location Fort Smith, Arkansas.
