Position Overview We're looking for a dependable, analytical Accountant who wants responsibility for their work and the opportunity to help shape the financial foundation of a growing company. This position oversees the day‑to‑day financial operations for Twin City Properties and several related entities owned by Doug Pederson.
You’ll work directly with Doug and our COO to maintain accurate financials, improve processes, and provide clear reporting and insights. You’ll also supervise and support our Accounting Assistant, who manages accounts payable, receivable, and tenant‑level accounting.
This role is ideal for someone who values accuracy, integrity, and trust, and who thrives in a collaborative, positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and guide the Accounting Assistant handling accounts payable, receivable, and tenant‑level accounting
Maintain accurate books and records for multiple entities under common ownership
Ensure accounting accuracy for property and resident transactions, including move‑ins, move‑outs, and deposits
Manage general ledger activity, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting
Prepare DSCR and lender reporting packages
Coordinate with the CPA on tax filings and financial statements
Monitor cash flow, intercompany transfers, and bank accounts
Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
Provide financial insights to support decision‑making and long‑term stability
What We're Looking For Required
3+ years of accounting experience
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Leadership mindset with the ability to guide and review the work of others
Self‑starter who thrives in a trust‑based environment
Dependable, detail‑oriented, and highly organized
Excellent communicator and collaborator
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Real estate or property management experience
AppFolio experience is a major plus
