Reports to:
Principal
Position Purpose Assists the Principal and manages assigned campus operations so that all students, regardless of socioeconomic factors, are prepared for accelerated learning to compete in a global economy. Supports the Principal with leadership of the campus instructional program to ensure high standards of instruction and student achievement, compliance with district policies, application of instructional programs, and effective operation of all campus activities.
Instructional Leadership
Encourages and supports development of innovative instructional programs, participates in program evaluation, and suggests improvements.
Implements state and district curricula and assessments aligned with state standards.
Monitors high‑quality instruction practices among teachers and staff to improve student performance.
Analyzes multiple forms of student data to inform instruction and intervention decisions to maximize achievement.
Reinforces expectations for staff performance regarding instructional strategies and classroom management.
Fosters collegiality and team building among staff and encourages active involvement in decision‑making.
Assists with implementing and monitoring professional learning communities that promote positive teacher–administrator relationships and shared leadership.
Human Capital
Observes employee performance, records observations, and conducts evaluation conferences; serves as second appraiser when needed.
Assists the Principal in recruiting, selecting, placing, mentoring, and retaining diverse and highly effective teachers and staff.
Coaches and develops teachers and staff through individual feedback and aligned professional development.
Provides clear expectations of performance and conducts rigorous evaluations using multiple data resources.
Executive Leadership
Solutions‑oriented; treats challenges as opportunities and supports continuous improvement.
Proactively seeks and uses feedback, reflects on personal growth, and changes practice to improve outcomes.
Communicates with all audiences and builds productive relationships.

School/Organizational Improvement
Takes a leadership role in planning activities, setting clear goals, tracking progress, and ensuring attainment of the school’s mission.
Participates in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members.
Helps maintain information systems to track campus performance objectives and collaborates with district staff to implement policies.
School Culture
Develops a student discipline management system that promotes positive behavior and enhances climate.
Ensures uniform application of rules and equitable discipline per the Student Code of Conduct.
Conducts conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
Ensures student supervision during non‑instructional periods.
Applies various discipline techniques to meet individual student needs.
Assists in fostering community and responsibility among students and adults.
Articulates the school’s mission to the community and solicits support.
Engages community and parent involvement to meet school needs.
Administration & Fiscal/Facilities Management
Oversees campus operations in the Principal’s absence.
Aligns resources with school needs and monitors impact on goals.
Assists with fiscal oversight of all campus budgets.
Leads scheduling of daily school activities, including class schedules and extracurriculars.
Oversees student attendance, grading, and discipline reporting and monitoring.
Compiles annual budget requests with department heads.
Requisitions supplies, textbooks, and equipment and monitors inventory.
Coordinates operational support services (transportation, custodial, cafeteria).
Complies with district policies, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides performance expectations and conducts rigorous evaluations of professional staff.
Directs the work of teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, clerical staff, and others assigned by the Principal.
Personal Work Relationships
Aligns with Fort Worth ISD’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
Exhibits high professionalism, work ethic, and customer service.
Demonstrates cultural competence, respect, teamwork, and appropriate responses to confrontational situations.

Standard office and classroom equipment, including Promethean Board, computer, and peripherals.
Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bunding, and twisting.
Frequent repetitive hand motions including keyboarding and mouse use.
Occasional light lifting (less than 15 pounds).
Work in office and school settings with irregular and prolonged hours and exposure to various weather conditions.
Regular and punctual attendance required.
Maintains emotional control under stress and works with frequent interruptions.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.
Degree in School Administration preferred.
Certification/License:
Valid Texas Mid‑Management or Principal Certification required.
T‑TESS Certification required.
Experience:
3 years’ successful teaching experience required.
Experience in inner‑city schools with diverse student populations.
Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings.
