The Associate Director for Financial Aid oversees counseling operations within the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA). The role provides guidance to students and families on financial aid options, eligibility, and application processes, and involves awarding aid, managing eligibility, and ensuring compliance with R2T4, Verification, SAP, and audits. The Associate Director supervises four Financial Aid Counselors and the Assistant Director of Counseling Services. Responsibilities

Counsel students and families regarding financial aid eligibility, aid programs, distribution of aid, and renewal requirements. Advise on how enrollment status and academic progress affect aid awards and future eligibility. Provide guidance on non‑aid options (payment plans, etc.) to meet institutional charges by the payment deadline. Supervise the four Financial Aid Counselors and the Assistant Director, ensuring excellent customer service via counseling, telephone, email, and walk‑in interactions. Offer guidance on best practices for handling inquiries, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining professionalism. Monitor counseling performance, provide training, and implement improvements to ensure timely and accurate responses. Assist with processing federal, state, and institutional aid per documented policy and procedures, including completing SAP processing each term. Ensure compliance with Return of Title IV (R2T4) funds, Verification, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and other regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records, review counseling processes for compliance, and work closely with financial aid leadership to address any issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years of progressive financial aid experience. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with student information systems such as Banner, Department of Education software, NSLDS, COD, Ed Connect. Master's Degree from an accredited college or university. Managerial experience and experience with Ellucian Banner Financial Aid. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge

Microsoft Office environments. FERPA laws and compliance. Willingness to travel for training and education. Skills

Strong written and verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills. Professional judgment and critical thinking for interpreting and applying federal and/or state regulations governing award of financial aid. Abilities

Work effectively with a wide range of people. Efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently. Learn Ellucian Banner SIS, CampusLogic, Technolutions Slate CRM, and other databases/interfaces. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Uphold all federal and state statutes and regulations regarding eligibility and distribution of student financial aid. Prioritize tasks, be detail oriented, and possess a teamwork spirit. B11 Salary:

Minimum $56,600 / annually – $68,245.24 / annually Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range. Benefits: health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), earned vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Full‑time employees with more than 6 months service may be considered for Tuition Assistance Program. Conditions of Employment
