Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Position Summary:
The Vice President of Accounting will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions for the firm’s real estate funds, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, compliance with GAAP, and adherence to internal policies. The role requires a strategic partner who can manage complex fund structures, support portfolio company accounting, and provide insights to senior management and investors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the fund accounting team, including preparation of fund-level and consolidated financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting for all real estate funds in compliance with GAAP, SEC, and investor reporting requirements.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Manage audits, tax filings, and internal controls; coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
Prepare investor reporting packages, including NAV calculations, capital activity, and performance metrics.
Provide accounting guidance and support for acquisitions, dispositions, financing activities, and other portfolio transactions.
Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures that align with industry best practices.
Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting.
Support CFO and senior management with financial analysis, forecasts, and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications
CPA certification required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
Minimum 6‑10 years of progressive accounting experience, including fund or real estate accounting experience.
Experience managing multi‑asset or multi‑fund structures, including private equity or real estate funds.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, and tax compliance for investment funds.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, BlackLine, or similar); advanced Excel skills required.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing a high‑performing team.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
Experience with large‑scale real estate portfolios (commercial, residential, or mixed‑use).
Experience in investor relations and reporting.
Understanding of fund structuring, waterfall calculations, and performance fees.
