We have an opening for an Assistant Managing Clerk to support our Managing Attorney’s office. The Assistant Managing Clerk will have experience working in a managing attorney's or managing clerk's office, with a deep understanding of court procedures, filings, and litigation support. This role is critical in ensuring that all court filings and litigation calendaring are handled with accuracy and in compliance with applicable rules. The Assistant Managing Clerk will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to manage court submissions and deadlines for state and federal litigation matters.
Responsibilities
Assist with the review, preparation, and electronic filing of legal documents in federal, state, and appellate courts;
Monitor and manage litigation deadlines and maintain an accurate calendaring system;
Provide guidance to legal staff on court rules and filing procedures;
Coordinate service of process, including subpoenas and notices;
Liaise with court personnel and external vendors (e.g., process servers, court runners);
Stay current on changes to court rules and filing procedures and ensure team compliance;
Support the Managing Clerk in all aspects of the department’s responsibilities;
Maintain records of court filings and other important legal documents.
Proficiencies
Experience with CompuLaw, eDockets, Milana or CourtAlert calendaring systems;
Proficiency in court filing systems (e.g., NYSCEF, ECF, PACER), Microsoft Office Suite, and docketing/calendaring software (e.g., CompuLaw, Milana, eDockets or CourtAlert);
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local court rules and filing protocols;
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, proactive approach, the ability to multitask in a high‑pressure environment, and be computer and tech savvy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (preferred); Legal studies background is a plus;
3–5 years of experience in a Managing Clerk’s Office or equivalent litigation support function at a law firm.
Compensation & Benefits The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $90,000 and a maximum of $125,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
