Summary Kestra Financial is seeking a dynamic and motivated Lead of our Advisor Compensation team. This role is responsible for shaping and leading the teams that process the weekly compensation to our financial professionals as well as overseeing the Advisor and Client fees processing. The ideal candidate is strategic in moving the department forward through process reinvention, proactive planning, and consistent, constructive feedback to team members and peers. The ideal candidate is eager to lead by example in delivering our mission of Powering Financial Independence by having a serve, make it happen, and one team mentality.
Responsibilities
Direct responsibility for the Producer Compensation and Fee Billing Teams and ensuring the team focuses on service, accuracy and prompt compensation payments and advisor fee processing.
Ability to incorporate all advisor billing and NFS client billing into the Producer Compensation Team.
Direct impact of the operational efficiency and accuracy of the various department processes through regular process review and changes; Ask “why” and work quickly to uncover root causes and assess needed changes when issues arise.
Ensure regulatory and firm compliance, including adherence to firm mandates, for all compensation activities, including establishing and maintaining key audit objectives to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and accounting control practices.
Regularly strategize on improvements with internal stakeholders, including Accounting, Compensation Paying Product Owners, Compliance and Business Development while reducing exception processing.
Regularly provide honest, clear feedback and ensure accountability to team members and peers to keep doing what is working and quickly improve what is not.
Responsible for the department budget as well as providing promotion recommendations.
Stay ahead of the needs of others as dictated by the company value of “serve” through proactive identification of challenges and development of preemptive solutions.
Work in partnership with fellow management team to champion strategic decisions and hold team members and fellow stakeholders accountable.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Has a strong knowledge of financial industry advisor compensation processing and regulations.
Has excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills; has ability to diffuse escalations and provide clear, concise solutions.
Ability to quickly evaluate risk, make independent decisions and prioritize communications internal stakeholders and senior management.
Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to educate and be concise.
Has the ability to interact positively with internal and external customers; building and maintaining trusting relationships.
Has impeccable organizational skills; the ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates integrity every day and leads by example; has strong motivational and coaching skills.
Skillful in coordinating multiple projects/assignments and completing tasks timely and accurately.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Director, Producer Compensation (directly manages Support Specialists and Compensation Analysts)
Manager, Producer Compensation (directly manages the Producer Compensation Data Entry Team)
Fee Billing Operations (future reporting)
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree strongly required
10+ years equivalent industry related experience strongly preferred
Certifications
The ability to acquire licensing that may be required in the future due to changing regulations.
Internal Applicant Policy Internal applicants must be in good standing and have a minimum of 1 year of service with Kestra. Internal applicants must also have a minimum of 1 year service in current role unless approved by EVP.
