Business Development Executive – West Coast, US
Role Description: Emulate is seeking a motivated Business Development Executive to drive sales of our Organ-on-a-Chip technology. In this role, you will build and manage relationships with researchers, decision‑makers, and key accounts across life sciences, pharma, and academic markets. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their needs, position our products and services, and grow revenue within your assigned region.
Location: West Coast, US
Key Tasks
Develop and execute a regional business plan focused on target accounts, existing products, and new product introductions
Identify customer needs and present appropriate scientific and commercial solutions
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to support long‑term growth
Close new business, renew contracts, upsell existing accounts, and generate referrals
Manage overall customer relationships to ensure successful product adoption and routine use
Communicate customer needs and feedback to internal teams for product and process improvements
Provide accurate quarterly forecasts and manage inbound leads efficiently
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Success to support customer success and drive revenue
Desired Skills
7+ years of successful sales experience, ideally selling Life Sciences solutions for pharmaceutical or academic markets
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets
Experience selling into complex, matrixed customer environments (from bench scientists to C‑suite)
Strong understanding of drug development cycle
Sufficient knowledge of primary cell and stem cell biology to support initial technical conversations with customers
Familiarity with therapeutic areas such as neuroscience, cancer, and immunology & inflammation
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $130,000 – $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Variable Compensation: Performance-based bonus opportunity targeted at 30% of annual base salary, paid quarterly based on revenue recognized under U.S. GAAP
