Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing management, guidance, and direction to production staff while overseeing operations that occur during the assigned shift. The supervisor ensures the production schedule is achieved at expected costs while meeting safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the production schedule and adjust priorities as needed.

Identify and secure necessary resources (people, materials, etc.).

Schedule and assign work to staff, managing and adjusting priorities.

Manage direct labor, materials, and related costs to meet budget.

Monitor production progress and troubleshoot problems to meet production goals.

Ensure equipment is operating properly by coordinating with maintenance and other departments.

Coordinate with incoming/outgoing shift leaders to ensure smooth hand‑offs.

People Leadership

Participate in recruitment and selection of staff.

Provide ongoing training and development during the shift.

Foster a positive work environment through open communication and teamwork.

Provide performance feedback, recognize good performance, and offer coaching or discipline as needed.

Resolve work and interpersonal conflicts promptly.

Motivate staff to achieve desired results.

Operational Compliance

Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing all safety policies.

Keep work area clean in accordance with GMP guidelines.

Maintain quality production standards.

Promote continuous improvement by identifying and recommending process enhancements.

Reporting and Record‑Keeping

Enter all production hours in SAP for each line on each shift.

Accurately report work hours in KRONOS.

Complete all quality checks during each shift.

Send shift updates once information is entered at shift end.

Handle special projects and initiatives related to shift management.

Required Skills And Education

Associate’s degree in business or technical discipline preferred.

Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred.

Experience with process improvement initiatives & Kaizen events.

5+ years’ experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment; union experience a plus.

2+ years’ experience in folding carton, corrugated, printed packaging strongly preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface with all levels of employees.

Working knowledge of manufacturing systems (SAP, KRONOS, 5S, Waste Reduction).

Skilled in problem‑solving & troubleshooting (A3, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis).

Bilingual Spanish a plus.
