Federal Tax Manager - Global Compliance and Reporting - Los Angeles
EY is hiring a Federal Tax Manager to lead global compliance and reporting for the Los Angeles market. The role requires deep technical tax knowledge, strong client engagement skills, and the ability to manage and develop cross‑border teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support client engagements by coordinating day‑to‑day interactions with clients and reviewing staff work product.
Drive delivery of services to meet deadlines and manage engagement economics.
Continuously build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and applying them to complex situations.
Identify and resolve tax technical issues and share insights to improve efficiency.
Partner with other team members to identify new opportunities to leverage clients across multiple service lines.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Provide domestic federal tax advice and guidance tailored to unique client needs.
Keep up to date with ongoing trends and changes to legislation that affect planning activities.
Supervise high‑performing teams and share experience and knowledge of leading practices.
Develop the technical and soft skills of younger colleagues and participate in the performance management process.
Build relationships at all levels both internally and externally, promoting a culture of collaboration.
Prepare practical recommendations for some of clients’ most complex tax issues.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a graduate degree in Tax or Law and approximately five years of related work experience.
CPA certification or licensed attorney status.
A background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of U.S. income taxation.
Experience managing budgets and projects.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and data mining tools.
The ability to prioritize when working on multiple projects and confidently engage directly with clients’ teams.
Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.
Ideal Additional Experience
A proven record in a professional services environment.
Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
The ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members.

Competitive compensation and benefits with a base salary range of $90,300 to $165,400 for U.S. locations and higher ranges for high‑cost areas.
