Federal Tax Manager - Global Compliance and Reporting - Los Angeles Join EY in shaping your future with confidence. This role is part of a growing global team that engages with a wide range of clients and colleagues across borders.

Overview As a Tax Manager you will prepare and audit income tax provisions, assist with income tax filings, consult on planning opportunities, and coach and develop staff on your engagement teams.

Key Responsibilities

Support client engagements by coordinating day‑to‑day interactions with clients, reviewing staff work product, and driving delivery of services to meet deadlines.

Develop internal team members, manage engagement economics, keep up‑to‑date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations.

Identify and resolve tax technical issues and share insights to improve efficiency.

Partner with other team members to identify new opportunities across multiple service lines.

Skills and Attributes for Success

Provide domestic federal tax advice and guidance tailored to client needs.

Stay updated on ongoing trends and changes in legislation affecting planning.

Supervise high‑performing teams and share leading‑practice knowledge.

Develop technical and soft skills of junior colleagues and participate in performance management.

Build relationships at all levels, promote a culture of collaboration.

Prepare practical recommendations to clients’ most complex tax issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or graduate degree in Tax or Law; approximately five years of related experience.

CPA certification or licensed attorney status.

Background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax with broad understanding of U.S. income taxation.

Experience managing budgets and projects.

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and data‑mining tools.

Ability to prioritize when working on multiple projects; confidence to engage directly with clients’ teams.

Willingness to travel as needed; experience working in a balanced hybrid environment.

Ideal Additional Experience

Proven record in a professional services environment.

Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Adaptable work style with both internal and client team members.

A comprehensive compensation and benefits package; base salary range $90,300–$165,400 (U.S. locations) with cost‑of‑living adjustments further ranges; includes medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.
