Base pay range $15.00/hr - $16.00/hr
Summary The Quality Inspector plays a key role in maintaining high standards of product quality by performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections. This position requires the use of microscopes, precision measuring equipment, deburring tools, and inspection documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, experience in manufacturing, and familiarity with reading blueprints and engineering specifications. The Quality Inspector reports directly to the Quality Department Supervisor and collaborates closely with operations, production, and engineering teams.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Perform detailed inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and other dimensional measurement tools.
Inspect parts under a microscope for prolonged periods for dimensional and cosmetic requirements.
Use deburring or small grinding tools under a microscope as required.
Evaluate production items for final inspection.
Reject nonconforming parts based on dimensional or visual criteria.
Package inspected parts according to specific customer requirements.
Pull and complete pick lists for shipment authorization.
Read, interpret, and inspect parts to blueprints and associated symbols.
Apply engineering specifications and quality standards during inspection.
Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
Work with production teams to address quality issues and support continuous improvement.
Perform basic mathematical calculations required for inspection tasks.
Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the Department Leader.
Required Qualifications Vision & Precision
Must have corrected vision to 20/25 in at least one eye (20/40 minimum for Inspector B equivalent).
Must not be colorblind in either eye.
Must be able to use a microscope for extended periods without discomfort.
Technical Skills
Proficient with dimensional measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and rulers.
Ability to learn and use deburring or small grinding tools under a microscope.
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Blueprint & Specification Skills
Ability to read blueprints (preferred).
Ability to identify dimensional requirements.
Ability to inspect a part accurately to the print.
Other Requirements
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods.
Must have neat and legible handwriting.
Must be able to follow instructions and work independently.
Must be able to work effectively with employees across all departments.
Education & Experience
Prior manufacturing experience required.
HS Diploma or GED.
Competencies
