Concessions and Bar Manager
| Full-Time | Kentucky Exposition Center Join to apply for the Concessions and Bar Manager role at Oak View Group. Responsibilities
Manage, develop and mentor a staff of part-time and full-time concessions employees, including documenting employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy. Ensure proper setup of all concessions and bar locations prior to doors, including opening inventory, assigning duties, ensuring sanitation standards, and confirming location readiness; manage cash handling procedures in coordination with supervisors. Provide high-level oversight and operational expertise to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable event execution. Oversee a large volume of inventory, order product, and manage high-volume sales. Manage and run all venue concessions operations before, during and after events, including staff scheduling, equipment inspection, POS monitoring, guest issue resolution, training, food production, post-event reconciliation and reporting. Train new and current employees on property procedures and best practices. Be available to cover/open positions to maintain fully operational locations and uphold speed of service and guest satisfaction; assist with Premium Services operations as directed. Provide direction and oversight to Concessions Supervisors, Stand Managers, Concession Cooks, and Cashiers; ensure compliance with State/Federal and IEC policies, including alcohol service and food handling guidelines; report compliance issues to the General Manager. Complete post-event evaluations, data compilation, and reporting; serve as a resource for POS applications and training. Coordinate purchasing of food, beverage and related stock to ensure ample quantities for events. Maintain a safe, harassment-free work environment; address safety concerns and incidents and relay issues to management. Ensure staff and volunteers are aware of workplace expectations; provide ongoing training and mentoring; promote a positive, cooperative atmosphere. Obtain working knowledge of all existing concession locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, and facility access. Qualifications
Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field. 3-5 years’ experience in Concessions Management, Food & Beverage Management, or related field. Degree may be substituted for four or more years of equivalent experience. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems. Experience training new employees and volunteers. Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls. Experience ordering product for a high-volume venue. Strong communication skills and ability to foster a positive, professional work environment. Ability to make sound business/operational decisions quickly under pressure. Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. Thorough knowledge of sanitation, food preparation, alcohol service policies, and safety standards related to IEC concessions. Ability to perform basic math for POS transactions, cash reconciliation and inventory. Commitment to integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality. Nationally recognized food service sanitation certification preferred; nationally recognized alcohol service certification preferred. Benefits
