Essential Functions

Inspect product for compliance with the drawing and customer specifications

Manage processes, paperwork, and reporting for the quality function

Understand Valmont quality guidelines

Conduct basic operator training on quality

Discuss current issues in the morning production meetings

Report on the results of all basic tests to verify conformance to specifications

Complete required inspection documentation

Understand the NDT process

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

High School Diploma or equivalent

2 plus years of previous Quality Control experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

Ability to communicate in small group for training/informational purposes

Working knowledge of welding processes, standards, and print reading

Mathematical skills to use decimals and fractions, converting both ways

Ability to use both imperial and metric measuring systems

Proficiency with tape measures, micrometers, dial indicators, radius gauges, PI tapes and other basic shop tools

Readable written communication

Computer literacy

Willingness to work overtime as required

Safe lifting up to 20 pounds frequently throughout the shift

Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Positive interaction with coworkers

High awareness of and commitment to safety at all times

Job Training Skill Development Should have a strong enough understanding to make most necessary quality interpretations within three months and have total comprehension of the job within six months.

Decision Making Will constantly be monitoring and reporting in quality data to interested parties.

Environment Must be able to work in a moderate industrial environment requiring constant awareness of the environment and the use of several types of PPE.

Effort Physical Effort Will stand 95% of shift and bend, stoop, climb and reach over tubing and equipment 70% of the time during the shift. Little physical effort is required of this job. May do lifting 25% of the time.
