Aerospace First Article & Final Inspector

Step Into a Day as Our Aerospace Quality Guardian
Morning might find you at Receiving, verifying incoming components against drawings and specs. By midday, you’re on the production floor, performing in-process checks and coaching operators on critical characteristics. In the afternoon, you’re completing a First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102, then closing the loop with a final inspection that gives the green light for flight‑worthy parts. As a floating inspector, you move where you’re needed most—keeping standards high across multiple stations.
What You’ll Do
Execute inspections across the lifecycle: receiving, in-process, first article, and final release.
Prepare, document, and submit FAIs to AS9102 and customer‑specific requirements.
Interpret drawings, GD&T callouts, and specifications to verify compliance.
Identify nonconforming product, document per established procedures, and escalate appropriately.
Communicate discrepancies clearly and collaborate with engineering, production, and customers to resolve them.
Maintain accurate inspection records and complete all quality documentation.
Tools and Standards You’ll Use
Precision instruments: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and more.
GD&T proficiency and blueprint reading to validate dimensional and feature requirements.
AS9102 FAI practices; familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 environments is preferred.
Bonus exposure: CMM, Net Inspect, and Discuss.
