IT Support Specialist (Part-Time)

We are a mission-driven healthcare organization dedicated to improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations by addressing social determinants of health. We seek a skilled, compassionate IT professional to provide technical support for our growing team as we launch innovative programs serving transitional age youth, individuals experiencing homelessness, older adults, and other underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical support to staff via phone, email, and in-person troubleshooting (helpdesk support) Manage user accounts, access permissions, and password resets for all organizational systems Set up and configure workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals for new and existing staff Administer and support CRM systems, data management platforms, and electronic health record systems Ensure HIPAA compliance across all technology systems including encryption, secure data transmission, and access controls Maintain and monitor backup systems, cloud storage, and disaster recovery procedures Support remote work infrastructure including VPN, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams), and collaboration tools Train staff on technology tools, security best practices, and new system implementations Create and maintain IT documentation including system guides, procedures, and user manuals Manage software licenses, renewals, and vendor relationships Monitor system performance, identify issues proactively, and implement preventive maintenance Collaborate with external IT vendors/contractors on specialized projects and escalated issues Required Qualifications
3+ years of IT support experience, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or social services settings Strong understanding of HIPAA requirements and healthcare data security best practices Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Monday.com, Asana, or similar), databases, and data management systems Knowledge of networking basics, cloud services (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), and remote access technologies Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users patiently and clearly Customer service orientation with commitment to supporting staff effectively Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time schedule Commitment to health equity and passion for supporting mission-driven organizations Reliable transportation for on-site support (local travel within service area) Preferred Qualifications
IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified, or similar); Experience with electronic health records (EHR) or behavioral health software; Familiarity with grant‑funded program reporting requirements; Background in cybersecurity or information security; Experience supporting remote/hybrid work environments; Company Description
