We are seeking a GIS Technician We are seeking a GIS Technician to join our GIS Data Maintenance and Conversion Team. This role is primarily focused on production and data conversion work within ESRI ArcGIS environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with land records data, and able to create and maintain accurate GIS datasets using a variety of source materials and techniques. This position works closely with Project Managers, reports to the Manager of Professional Services, and includes some direct client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform GIS data conversion and maintenance tasks related to land records using ArcGIS tools
Create GIS data using methods such as COGO, heads-up digitizing, and georeferencing
Georeference and manage digital imagery within an ArcGIS environment
Read and interpret legal descriptions and plats accurately
Follow established quality control and data standards
Assist with additional GIS-related tasks as needed
Required Skills
Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
Ability to read and understand legal descriptions
Basic understanding of GIS concepts including topology, datasets, geodatabases, and cartography
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction
Education & Experience
Minimum of two years of experience working with ESRI ArcGIS Pro products
Experience working with local government GIS data is preferred but not required
Associate’s degree or certificate in GIS, Geography, or a related field is a plus, but not required
