What You Will Do
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL database software.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and overall system efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, restores and recovery procedures.
Manage database security, user access, roles and permissions in compliance with company policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, performance and data‑integrity issues.
Develop and implement high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions.
Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas and support query optimization.
Document database configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides.
Participate in on‑call rotation for critical database support.
Stay current with the latest database technologies and best practices.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience as a DBA focused on Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Proven expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM and performance tuning.
Experience with PostgreSQL replication, partitioning and tuning.
Solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting (Bash, Python).
Experience with backup and recovery strategies and tools (RMAN, pg_dump/pg_restore).
Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL) is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Salary Salary ranges: Jersey City, NJ – $145,000 to $160,000; NY – $145,000 to $160,000; Washington – $145,000 to $160,000; California – $145,000 to $160,000; Colorado – $145,000 to $160,000; Maryland – $145,000 to $160,000.
