Overview
Jacobs is seeking a Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Lead for its Advanced Manufacturing Group. The role is site‑based with flexibility for a home office location in the U.S. The VDC Lead will manage and optimize digital delivery processes for electric vehicle, data center, consumer goods, metals, pulp & paper, and other manufacturing markets.
Base Pay Range
$111,100.00 to $145,725.00 per year.
Location
Open to candidates throughout the United States. Preference for those near a Jacobs U.S. office.
Responsibilities
The VDC Lead will: Provide VDC/BIM/Digital Delivery management and leadership, aligning technologies with internal and client goals. Define digital delivery scope for project estimates and coordinate project technical setup and model deliverables. Create and implement Design and Construction BIM Execution Plans for EPCM projects. Integrate VDC tasks, including 3D logistics and safety planning, 4D scheduling, 5D cost and quantity take‑offs. Administer and manage the Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud) across design to construction. Kick‑off, manage, and track Clash Detection, lead clash resolution meetings, and serve as BIM Subject Matter Expert. Coordinate laser scan data integration, facilitate Scan to BIM efforts, and manage model redline and as‑built processes. Lead mobile device trainings for field employees and facilitate reality capture for remote reporting. Act as technology lead, offering in‑field technical troubleshooting and support for software, model viewing, and mobile device applications. Collaborate with clients, representatives, contractors, and trade partners for trade partner modeling and quality. Consult during business development proposals and estimates. Recruit, manage, mentor employees, and develop training materials for technical guidance. Coordinate VDC activities with field operations and own onsite VDC processes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will: Have at least 7 years of VDC/BIM experience in the construction industry. Understand BIM technologies and their application in manufacturing environments for Design and Construction. Be proficient in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Have experience with laser scanning and point cloud data management. Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Show proven onsite leadership experience of VDC activities. Work collaboratively in fast‑paced environments both on site and virtually. Be capable of developing and implementing BIM execution plans. Understand construction processes and MEP systems. Be willing to work on site at a project near Baton Rouge, LA (or another U.S. location). Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
