IT Desktop Administrator
Carriage Services , a leading provider in funeral & cemetery services, is hiring at our Houston, TX office. The role requires regular business travel up to 10% across U.S. sites.
Full‑time, $60,000+ annually.
Overview As part of the distributed IT Service Delivery team, you will provide Level 2 Desktop Support, act as interface between IT, Service Desk, and internal customers, and reduce the burden on network, applications, and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day operation of IT support: call handling, incident management, asset management, access management, event management, problem management, and request fulfillment.
Second‑level support and duty manager role interfacing with external Service Desk: monitoring, prioritization, categorization, documentation, processing, and distribution of all incoming requests/ incidents.
Maintain and administer CMDB; document all relevant Configuration Items (CIs).
Ensure compliance, protect and develop corporate standards and best practices; recommend changes as part of continuous service improvement.
Install, deploy, and maintain end‑user environment: services, software, hardware, peripherals, printers, telephones, faxes, scanners.
Execute day‑to‑day IT operational tasks across network and converged infrastructure, end‑to‑end monitoring of IT systems, escalation of performance deviations.
Contribute to IT initiatives and projects under function heads for network services, server administration as required.
Provide status updates and reporting for projects and operations; manage communication to local user communities.
Promote standardization and service automation, ensure compliance with SOE, deliver harmonization and centralization of products and services.
Participate in corporate cyber‑security agenda; execute assigned security tasks.
Qualifications
Minimum four (4) years of professional service and support experience in a corporate environment, supporting C‑Level executives and administrative staff on‑site.
Experience in enterprise environments interacting with multicultural employees.
Strong customer‑service orientation.
Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Excellent oral and written English skills.
Foundation ITIL service management certification and strong understanding of ITSM best practices.
Vendor certifications such as Cisco (CCENT/CCNA) and Microsoft (MCP) are a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft desktop support (Office suite, Office365, Windows 10).
Experience with desktop applications deployment (ZScaler, Microsoft Edge, etc.).
Hardware installation and support (printers, computers, servers, switches, peripherals).
Understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP).
Physical Demand Must be able to lift, push, or move 50 lbs.
