Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around‑the‑clock emergency care, surgical services, non‑invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services.
Responsibilities
Provide advanced ECG monitoring with a focus on assessment of ECG strips and arrhythmia interpretation.
May also be responsible for monitoring alerts from patient wearable devices to include escalation to a Virtual RN.
Possess troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem.
Identify and respond to potentially life‑threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during code, and conduct continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias and interval measurements.
Appropriately respond to all monitor alarms.
Must be able to manage multiple technology platforms and develop collaborative relationships with other staff via remote platforms.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Successfully complete the cardiac monitoring exam.
Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Demonstrate arrhythmia recognition.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Associate degree in a related field.
One (1) year in the specialty area, rhythm recognition skill set.
