is seeking a skilled

Defense Litigation Paralegal

with at least three years of litigation experience to support attorneys in all phases of civil defense litigation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and experienced in managing complex cases from initial pleadings through trial. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact between courts, defense attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, court reporters, and vendors Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and meetings Monitor, calendar, and manage litigation deadlines to ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling orders Draft, review, and file defense-side litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, notices, and correspondence Manage and maintain active defense litigation files, including: Reviewing and organizing discovery and document productions

Analyzing plaintiff discovery responses and records Preparing deposition summaries, discovery summaries, and medical chronologies Coordinating record retrieval and expert-related materials

Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness materials, and trial binders Enter and edit attorney time for monthly billing and reporting Collaborate closely with assigned attorneys on case strategy support and special litigation projects Perform additional litigation and administrative support tasks as needed Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 3 years of civil defense litigation paralegal experience required Strong understanding of civil procedure, discovery deadlines, and court rules Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and competing deadlines with minimal supervision Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and prioritization skills Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced defense litigation environment Proficiency with legal research and litigation tools, including LEXIS, PACER, e-filing systems, and record retrieval platforms Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information Reliable, adaptable, and collaborative team player Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Current Texas Notary Public or ability to obtain commission
