Position Overview The Legal Assistant plays a key role in supporting paralegals and attorneys and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position involves interpreting for non-Spanish fluent attorneys, maintaining electronic and physical files, preparing immigration petitions for mailing, and assisting with legal work.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Fairfax, VA, and Silver Spring, Maryland, with the expectation of daily on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities Legal Support & Coordination
Assist paralegals and attorneys with case preparation and documentation
Prepare and mail immigration petitions and supporting documents
Maintain organized electronic and physical case files
Client Communication & Interpretation
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients when needed
Assist in client document collection and gathering final petition assistance
Administrative & Operational Support
Assist with office tasks and workflow management
Support ongoing projects and initiatives within the firm
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Must be fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking)
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
