Associate Attorney – Litigation (Remote)
Based in Los Angeles, BD&J is California’s leading personal injury law firm, having recovered over $2 billion for our clients. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join our Litigation Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a results‑driven attorney with a passion for advocacy and courtroom practice to gain valuable mentorship and hands‑on experience working on high‑value catastrophic injury cases.
Unlike traditional associate roles, this position does not carry its own caseload. Instead, the Associate Attorney will provide direct support to senior trial attorneys on complex, high‑exposure matters gaining unique exposure to advanced litigation strategy, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy. This is a fully remote position with opportunities to collaborate closely with some of the most experienced litigators in the field.
Responsibilities
Support senior attorneys in managing catastrophic injury litigation cases
Assist with legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
Participate in case strategy sessions, trial preparation, and client communications under senior attorney guidance
Attend and assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and arbitrations (virtually and in person as needed)
Coordinate with experts, medical providers, and clients to support case development
Ensure all case documentation complies with legal and firm standards
Skills & Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active California Bar license
2+ years of litigation experience in personal injury or civil litigation preferred
Strong legal writing and research skills
Prior experience with depositions, mediations, or motion work is a plus
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with senior attorneys and litigation teams
Client‑centered approach with strong interpersonal communication
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
