LHH is assisting a downtown Dallas transactional law firm find a Tax Planning Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary. This desk is corporate- and transactional-focused, requiring strong drafting, editing, and document management skills. The 3 attorneys this position supports work in different parts of the office, so excellent communication and coordination are critical.
Benefits
Salary ranges from $85,000 - $95,000 DOE Holiday bonus every December 15th
(increases with tenure) $100 monthly parking allowance Can accrue up to 10 PTO days year 1 and 2 weeks PTO and 10 personal after year 1 Full Medical, Dental, Vision benefits package plus 401K Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of legal assistant experience Proficient in MS Office and NetDocs. Orion +++ 80+ WPM typing Excellent grammar and proofreading Strong people skills and team-oriented attitude High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment Must be a self-starter with strong initiative Some overtime may be required on short notice Ideal Candidate
Has a corporate/transactional background, not litigation Is detail-oriented, polished, and able to work with a "thorough, classic, old-soul" approach Is comfortable handling dictation, drafting, and revising complex documents Works effectively with multiple personalities Maintains calm professionalism and strong internal communication Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare and revise legal documents Draft and revise correspondence Manage all incoming/outgoing mail Schedule conference calls and appointments Maintain attorney calendars Manage files and filing systems Enter attorney time Communicate professionally with internal team members Advanced Tax Planning Support (for the Tax Planning Section)
Draft tax planning documents (e.g., partnership agreements, merger letters, entity flowcharts) Transcribe dictation and voicemails Review monthly billing memos Maintain client files E-file documents in federal and state courts Draft wills and trust forms Manage multiple attorney calendars If you meet the all the requirements, please apply or contact me directly at jamie.stone@lhh.com
