Job Summary and Responsibilities
Directs the Quality and Compliance Department for DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM). Oversees unexpected clinical event investigations and ensures recommendations are implemented. Ensures compliance with internal and external standards, medical safety, and infection control principles. Leads the organization toward becoming highly reliable, maintaining hospital readiness for accreditation, and driving high patient outcomes. Manages policy, protocol, guideline, and pre-printed order development, implementation, and revision. Provides input into organizational structure changes and approves personnel actions. Collaborates with senior leadership to optimize reimbursement, medical necessity documentation, and quality improvement initiatives. Monitors compliance with laws, regulations, and Joint Commission coordination; implements audit recommendations and promotes supplier diversity. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; master’s degree or equivalent preferred. • Registered Nurse licensed in Michigan. • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in a related field. • Three years of progressively responsible management experience in an acute care facility, including involvement with senior management, physicians, and external providers. • Proficiency in personal computers and statistical or spreadsheet software tools. RIM is recognized for expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics, and catastrophic injury care. The Institute houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeast Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of only 16 federally designated model systems of care for brain injury.
