Gibson McIlvain is more than just materials and with our comprehensive architectural millwork facility, we offer custom millwork services from interior trim and cabinetry to exterior siding, pergolas, and furniture.
SUMMARY The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for accurately counting, and identifying stock located in the lumber yard. They will be responsible for the accuracy of those counts. They will also be responsible for communicating damages, and/or losses with supporting photographs and documentation. They will follow procedures to accurately adjust inventory for over/short, defective, and damaged materials. Must be okay with heights and being outside in all weather.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately controls and tracks physical inventory, notifying management of any shortages.
Works closely with bank and insurance representatives when necessary.
Participates in inventory process and daily audits; researches and resolves inventory discrepancies.
Maintains and manages accurate records of quantity, type, and value of materials stocked.
Maintains and oversees inventory database.
Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
Assists Order Fillers identify packs to use.
Runs aging inventory reports.
Provides recommendations on aging inventory to Forklift Drivers.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
One to two years related experience or equivalent.
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Clear understanding of basic math and measuring skills.
Reading, writing and English comprehension.
Ability to manage priorities and workflows.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities, demonstrating enthusiasm.
Comfortable working outdoors when necessary.
Acute attention to detail.
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm.
