Overview

Programming and Inspecting Aerospace parts in adherence to quality standards while meeting and compliance with design specifications, production, and scheduled targets. Job Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Operating CMMs to measure and inspect the physical dimensions, shapes, and surface characteristics of manufactured components or products. Fixture Setup: Setting up and securing the part or component being inspected on the CMM's measuring table to ensure stability during the measurement process. Measurement and Inspection: Executing measurement programs and overseeing the CMM as it collects data points using various probing methods, such as touch-trigger or scanning probes. Data Analysis: Analyzing the measurement data to assess whether the inspected components meet the specified tolerances and quality standards. This may involve comparing measured values to CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models. Reporting: Creating detailed inspection reports that document the measured dimensions, deviations from specifications, and any non-conformities found. These reports are often used for quality control documentation and process improvement. Maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance and calibration of the CMM to ensure its accuracy and reliability. This includes cleaning, recalibrating, and troubleshooting any issues. Problem-Solving: Identifying and addressing measurement problems, deviations, or equipment malfunctions, and adjusting as needed. Quality Assurance: Ensuring that the products being inspected meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations and customer requirements. Perform final inspections of Gretna’s procedures. Assist inspection at any point with first articles or final inspections. Inspect documents before shipping finished parts. Check documentation before inspecting parts to make sure paperwork corresponds to the piece being inspected. Manual inspection and visual inspection? 100% inspection Qualifications

Minimum of two-three years’ experience required. CMM inspectors need to have a strong understanding of metrology principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models. They should also be proficient in using CMM software and operating systems the machine efficiently. Attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently are essential qualities for this role. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, procedure manuals and other
