Lead the quality management system for the brand, innovating and improving performance across the organization.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with QMS standards through internal audits and advice.
Assist in developing and maintaining a strong QMS strategy by promoting process approach and risk‑based thinking.
Support the establishment of the Quality Management System by planning and holding training across the board.
Create a role‑tailored catalog of training for the Quality department, manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
Examine the impact of processes on the entire QMS (conformity checks).
Develop audit plans and programs to ensure a thorough and efficient audit process.
Conduct system audits as Lead Auditor for all business units within Scout Motors.
Prepare consolidated audit reports, address findings, and make recommendations.
Track corrective actions and their effectiveness through follow‑up audits.
Create reports about audit performance, corrective actions, and training activities.
Act as the central contact person for all QM audit and qualification topics.
Location & Travel Expectations
Base location: Scout Motors, Columbia, South Carolina.
Requires regular in‑office attendance, in‑person meetings, and events.
Occasional travel to participate in company events as needed.
What you’ll bring
Process‑mindful, dynamic, strategic thinker to partner across the organization for a strong QMS.
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related field.
5+ years of automotive quality experience, including 3+ years of auditing and knowledge management.
Certified in internal/external auditing with a focus on ISO 9001:2015; knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA preferred.
Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma, SPC, CAPA, root‑cause analysis, PPAP, NPI, 5S, Kaizen, and other QMS tools.
Proven ability to document audit findings and execute PDCA audits.
Strong technical background and understanding of internal audit professional standards.
Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels.
High organizational skill, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability in a fast‑paced environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort with AI tools such as AssurX or PowerBI.
Lean manufacturing experience and knowledge of QM core tools (80/20, value stream mapping, 6S, etc.).
