About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to join a leading manufacturer specializing in custom metal fabrication and engineered solutions for diverse industries. In this role, you will serve as a trusted liaison for finance and accounting operations across multiple locations, ensuring alignment and consistency. You will analyze system-generated results, validate transactional data, and identify root causes of discrepancies while driving process improvements. This position requires strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to cross-functional teams.
Job Description Perform in-depth analysis of transactional data to identify trends and variances for financial clarity.
Act as the primary finance and accounting contact for the Sauk Rapids location, providing timely and accurate support.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Epicor ERP system to monitor cost origins and calculations.
Investigate discrepancies in financial records and execute month-end close activities for inventory, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial accuracy and support strategic initiatives.
Document standard work and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with at least 2 years of experience in Finance, Analytics, Accounting, or a related field.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting methods.
Minimum 2 years of experience in job or project costing and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in data extraction and manipulation.
Ability to learn and understand ERP systems and logic (Epicor experience preferred).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
Preferred:
Experience serving as a trusted advisor on financial matters.
Highly motivated toward process improvement and business needs.
