Heritage Hill State Historical Park
Heritage Hill State Historical Park is a 56-acre living history site in Green Bay, Wisconsin featuringover25buildingsfromthe17th–20thcenturies.Heritage Hill’s missionistoenrichthe lives of others by sharing Northeast Wisconsin’s diverse cultural and historic ties that bind our communities together. This is achieved through traditional museum exhibits, costumed historic interpreters, and other immersive and innovative techniques.
POSITION DESCRIPTION The Accountant reports to the Executive Director and manages the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and plays a significant role in budget development and management.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages general ledger and completes month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries
Calculates andmaintainsaccruals, deferrals, fixed assets, and prepaids
Completes monthly reconciliations, including bank recs, systems tie outs, and GL account recs
Assistswith the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting documents
Analyzes financial reports and prepares budget vs. actual reporting
Prepares financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders
Assistswith audits
Works effectively and professionally with other staff members in every department
Assists the Executive Director in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for the board of directors
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Three to five years of experience in accounting roles
Experience in a non-profit organization preferred
Advanced Excel skillsrequired
Financial systemsexpertiseand experience bridging multiple platforms/tools
Experience with QuickBooks
Mindfulness with outstanding critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and excellent people skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to the Heritage Hill State Historical Park mission, with an appreciation for the vital role that public history plays inmaintainingcivic health.
SALARY & BENEFITS Negotiable; this is a non-exempt, year-round, part-time (16-20 hours per week) position that includes paid time off, and more.
