Primary Position Objectives Develop relationships in community for the work-based learning (WBL) program. Coordinate placement of WBL students. Assist in placement of students prior to departure from the program and provide advance career training (ACT). Promote the ACT/OTP program to all staff and students; recruit students to ensure program capacity and provide support services to concurrently enrolled students to meet OMS goals and student achievement (certificates and degrees).
Position Responsibilities
Establish and maintain work-based learning (WBL) program linkages with local employers and advanced career training (ACT) program opportunities for students
Maintain linkages with federal, state, local agencies, employers, and contracted placement agencies to aid students’ placement into jobs, continuing education, or the armed forces
Assist recruiters with outreach services as needed
Participate in career preparation period curriculum and career transition activities as required
Counsel students regarding goals, options, requirements, services, etc.
Assist students with preparation of resume, preparation for work-based learning experiences, and job search activities
Coordinate placement of students in WBL; monitor student progress, counsel students regarding performance, evaluation, problem resolution, decision making, accountability, and transition issues
Complete student performance evaluations for students participating in WBL program
Promote the development of career success standards through modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and monitoring skill acquisition; intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed
Transport students for WBL purposes, as needed
Teach, model, and evaluate student employability skills
Monitor attendance and submit all ACT/OTP student attendance each week to the student records department
Maintain and monitor students’ ACT/OTP folders to include application, progress reports, class schedules, and grades
Coordinate with concurrent enrollment provider to ensure evaluations are submitted for each ESP in a timely manner
Ensure all ACT/OPT students meet PRH established attendance and performance criteria
Coordinate with concurrent enrollment provider and Center finance department to ensure all received financial aid is used to offset Center costs for ACT/OTP student enrollment
Provide regular feedback to students regarding appropriate employability skills and mastery of Career Success Standards
Conduct ACT/OTP screening committee to determine applicant eligibility
Follow CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily
Adhere to required property control policies and procedures
Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices
Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), LifeSkills Connection’s policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures
Demonstrate and abide by LifeSkills Connection’s core values and operating principles
Model, mentor, monitor appropriate Career Success Standards
Participate in PRH mandated staff training; Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point and Excel
Experience
Minimum of one year related experience
Education
Associate’s degree in related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
