Benefits and Leave Coordinator
We are SJE Inc. – a family of brands dedicated to delivering industry‑leading monitoring solutions. We are looking for a Benefits and Leave Coordinator to join our corporate HR team. This hybrid role can work out of Detroit Lakes, MN, Plymouth, MN, or Ashland, OH.
Job Overview As our Benefits and Leave Coordinator, your primary role is to administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and worker’s compensation. You will act as a liaison between employees and insurance providers, resolve issues, maintain accurate records in our HRIS and benefits systems, coordinate open enrollment across our 13 U.S. locations, and develop benefits‑related training materials our Learning Management System.
Responsibilities
Administer all employee benefit programs and maintain accurate records.
Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions and leave of absence inquiries.
Coordinate open enrollment and annual renewals across multiple locations.
Develop and deliver benefits training materials to the Learning Management System.
Maintain compliance with benefit laws and regulations.
Qualifications
4‑year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent, and 3–4 years of experience.
Strong understanding of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and multistate benefit and leave laws.
Experience managing group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans from onboarding through termination and COBRA administration.
Proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems, preferably UKG.
Exceptional customer service, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred HR certifications: SHRM, CEBS or similar.
Answering Your Questions
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Paid Time Off: Up to 120 hours in the first year plus 8 paid holidays.
Starting Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
