SUMMARY We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources professional to join our growing Human Resources team at our Camfil USA manufacturing facility in Washington, NC! In this new role, you will report directly to the site Human Resources Manager. The Human Resource Generalist will contribute to the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The role will provide HR administrative support on a day-to-day basis and support the HR Manager in providing a comprehensive HR service to managers and staff within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates the hiring process, including job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new employees.
Serves as a point of contact for employee inquiries and promotes a positive workplace culture.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices, and reviews policies to maintain compliance.
Maintains a strong presence on the manufacturing floor by using floor-time, Gemba walks, safety audits, presentations, etc.
Supports HR Manager with entering new hire enrollment and paperwork, daily attendance tracking, and uploading files to the electronic filing system.
Administers and supports all areas of the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs and coordinates the open enrollment process.
Processes and records leave (FMLA, ADA, STD) requests.
Handles payroll administration weekly and bi-weekly.
Counsel department managers and supervisors on discipline and conflict resolution, conducts employee coaching/counseling, disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Responds to internal and external HR inquiries or requests and provides assistance.
Counsel managers on performance assessments, develops and monitors performance improvement and recognition programs.
Keeps records of personnel transactions such as promotions, transfers, salary changes, and terminations; assists with the annual performance appraisal review process.
Maintains accurate HRIS system entries and employee records ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Prepares various HR reports including monthly new hire/termination reports.
Assists with engagement survey participation and follow-up.
Responds to employment verifications, employee letters, and unemployment claims.
Administers drug screenings, physicals, and background checks.
Provides excellent customer service to employees and leadership.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts for the HR function.
Assists HR and supervisors with performance management procedures.
Maintains and updates organizational charts.
Schedules meetings and HR events; coordinates training sessions.
Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of human resource experience.
Human Resources certification preferred.
Prior manufacturing or similar experience highly preferred.
Knowledge of principles and practices in benefits and human resources.
Proficiency in benefits and other HRIS databases.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent customer service skills.
Basic knowledge of ADA, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and federal and state employment regulations preferred.
Ability to work autonomously and efficiently.
Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
