Overview The Digital Accessibility Sr. Analyst will serve as the Student Life Digital Accessibility advisor, promote digital accessibility in Student Life and support efforts to comply with the university digital accessibility policy. The role manages staff training plans, carries out events and communications to raise awareness of accessibility, offers training opportunities to create accessible documents and best practices in accessible design and coding, supports staff to make their digital content accessible, ensures that live events for students, staff, and the public use digital accessibility best practices and follow the university policy, and responds to digital accessibility complaints and requests within the time referenced in the university policy.

Consults with units in Student Life to evaluate products, ensures new software and websites are evaluated and necessary accommodations or remediation are negotiated prior to purchase or launch, maintains an audit trail, and works with other units on campus to share information about software purchases and accessibility updates.

Performs yearly audits to ensure faculty and staff have taken policy awareness and skills training, maintains an inventory of digital products and verifies accessibility compliance, and stays up to date on accessibility requirements and best practices.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Student Life Digital Accessibility advisor and promote digital accessibility.

Manage staff training plans and conduct events and communications to raise accessibility awareness.

Offer training on creating accessible documents and best practices.

Support staff in making digital content accessible.

Ensure live events use accessibility best practices and follow policy.

Respond to accessibility complaints and requests timely.

Consult with Student Life units to evaluate software and websites.

Negotiate accommodations and remediation prior to purchase or launch.

Maintain an audit trail of evaluations and remediation efforts.

Share information with other campus units about software purchases and accessibility updates.

Perform yearly audits and maintain an inventory of digital products.

Stay current on accessibility requirements and best practices.

Qualifications – Required

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience creating and implementing new processes in an information technology (IT) organization.

Experience training users to use software and understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508.

Strong organizational skills demonstrating ability to work on multiple projects and manage priorities.

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Desired

4-8 years of relevant experience.

Passion for accessibility issues.

Understanding of tools for accessibility evaluation.

Experience working with people with disabilities.

Experience testing and remediation of accessibility barriers in web, mobile, and native applications.

Experience guiding developers to create accessible user interfaces.

Experience in regulatory compliance.

Knowledge of current and emerging accessible development practices and assistive technology.

Fluency with disability law and regulation in higher education context.

Ability to perform manual digital accessibility tests for websites and software.

Familiarity with a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) and interpretation.

Compensation Starting pay range: $79,000.00 – $105,500.00, based on internal equity, unit budget, and qualifications.
