Pay Range $25.00/hr - $35.00/hr
Job Overview You will diagnose, install, maintain, and repair household appliances such as refrigerators, washers, ovens. You will troubleshoot issues, replace parts, use hand and specialized tools, adhere to safety/environmental rules, and provide excellent customer service, including explaining repairs, providing estimates, and handling billing.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnosis & Repair: Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble appliances; test for proper function; replace or adjust mechanical, electrical, or electronic parts.
Installation: Install new large appliances including washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ovens.
Customer Service: Respond to calls, explain issues, provide cost estimates, offer repair or replacement advice, train customers, collect payments.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain records of repairs, parts used, time; handle refrigerant recovery, recycling per federal law; manage inventory.
Safety: Adhere to safety regulations, inspect gas lines, handle hazardous materials safely.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Technical Skills: Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge; read schematics/manuals; proficiency with tools; understanding of refrigeration cycles; EPA Section 608 Certification.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem solving, customer focus, time management, attention to detail, teamwork.
Physical Ability: Dexterity, strength to lift heavy items, ability to work in various conditions.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
