This job is for a Pre‑Litigation Attorney. The position focuses on early case handling to achieve best outcomes for clients. The attorney will work independently and coordinate with supporting staff and other attorneys.
Compensation Base pay: $70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr. Pay is based on skills and experience. (Provided by Arnold & Smith Law, PLLC)
Location Oklahoma City, OK
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage approximately 500 pre‑litigation matters with the assistance of assigned negotiators from inception to settlement.
Assist and direct negotiators with day‑to‑day management of pre‑litigation matters.
Assist and direct investigations on all pre‑litigation and potential litigation matters.
Provide attorney review and final approval for negotiators.
Assist negotiators in negotiating pre‑litigation settlements.
Evaluate potential and current issues for valuation purposes to aid in early resolution.
Maintain communication with clients and staff through the course of the claim.
Perform legal research on relevant issues during the process.
Prepare summons, complaints, and other responsive pleadings for filing with the appropriate court.
Propound and respond to written discovery.
Prepare and respond to law and motion.
Possess active, acute knowledge of legal experts.
Be able to settle pre‑litigation/litigation cases for full value.
Meet with "problematic" clients.
Determine when to file suit.
Negotiate upon settlement or award.
Identify "high value" cases early and coordinate with negotiators.
Identify "low value" cases and knowledge of when to drop/refer matters out.
Understand statute deadlines.
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate and current good standing with a USA state bar.
Minimum three (3) years of experience working as a pre‑litigation attorney at a law firm.
Excellent interpersonal and social skills.
Initiative and compassion for those requiring personal injury services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
